![]() The society later disbanded and the telescope sat in a garage for some time until it was donated to the observatory at Bayfordbury in 1988. During the 1999 renovation a dedicated 4m dome was built to house the telescope on its original half-ton mount, but in 2005 the newer Chris Kitchin Telescope was installed in this dome and the Vince telescope mounted on the 20-inch Marsh Telescope where it is today. |

![]() I loved the Skywatcher 8" reflector I hired in fact I liked it so much my partner bought me the exact same telescope, the images from the telescope along with the seriously dark skies I hunted down made it a truly fantastic experience. |

![]() Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes SCT have the advantage that they are much smaller than other types of telescope because they use a series of mirrors to fold the light path. All professional telescopes, including the Faulkes telescopes, are now of the SCT design. |
![]() This is a larger aperture and the same fast f/4.9 relative of the highly successful RedCat 51 model but is still small and light. The RedCat71 telescope has an aperture of 71mm and focal length of 348mm f/4.9 and uses a Petzval optical design which provides a flat 45mm image circle without any additional flattener meaning it can be used with sensors up to full-frame size. |
![]() There are a number of different types of telescope, and whether you are looking for a beginner telescope or a more advanced GoTo Computerised Telescope. We have a huge range to suit every need. Probably the best known are the refractor telescope also known as the dioptric telescope and the reflector telescope or Newton telescope. |
![]() Unlike an optical telescope, which produces a magnified image of the patch of sky being observed, a traditional radio telescope dish contains a single receiver and records a single time-varying signal characteristic of the observed region; this signal may be sampled at various frequencies. |
![]() Whether you're' interested in casual stargazing or complex astrophotography projects, choose telescope mounts and tripods that help ensure optimal stability and sharp image quality. Select astronomical telescopesthat come with tripods, or try stand-alone optical tube assemblies that work with a variety of supports. |
